"Chunk, shut up...." Jessi sighed as she pulled herself up on the bar, doing chin-ups, fairly easily. She did this every other day, so it wasn't anything special, but there was now a reason to do it. She was going to get that money back, no matter what anyone said. When that hard earned money left, so did her pride. Only way to get pride back was to either build it up again, or take it back. Jessi was starting to get sick of her brother's friends, but Chunk was her friend as well.
"Jess, Chase will KILL me if I let you do this....I don't handle death very well...I mean, hell, even when I'm on the other side of the casket!" Chunk was a pretty hefty fella, being around eighteen. He never worked out, and didn't intend to.
"Look at my face, Chunk, and tell me if I look like I care right now...I dare ya. Chase will kill BOTH of us, so you ain't going down alone..." She had 'Party Starter' by Will Smith blaring in her ear, and it got her pumped, and kept a steady beat in which to pull herself up and down. "Those punk-ass freaks are going to pay for what they did to Mick....they will pay."
"But, you could get hurt, J...I couldn't stand to see that, and I know Chase and your friends wouldn't either...You're just one girl, J.." Chunk sighed, sitting down with a plop on the floor as he watched her. "C, there's a reason I am what I am, alright...? Just trust me, I know the talk of those freaks..I can speak their language." She truly knew how to handle this. Maybe with violence, but not in the beginning. Talk your way in the beginning. Then, see what they truly wanted, and see if you could give it to them. But, if they aren't willing to cooperate, regroup, and take 'em down, easy as that. "I hope you're right...." Chunk sighed and looked out the large window, watching the people laugh as they saw him sitting there.

Mickail laced up his chucks and walked out the door. He was going back to Knoxville. What his intentions were, were not known. There was a tiny chance he was hoping to run in the guys, he had knife in his pocket. Mick's mother had insisted that he carry sometime of protection against muggers. Mickail agreed with her, he usually never disagreed with his mom. He just never did. Mickail and his mother were pretty close. Mick's mom always had the best intentions and never was invasive. She let him come to her with problems instead of looking through his stuff to deliberate whether he had problems. Yep, that was good ol' mom.
Mickail walked along the city streets sober and aware of everything around him. The night he had been mugged that wasn't the case. Mick could not imagine how the homeless survived. He sure felt lucky to have a home. But if his mom were to miss three pay checks he'd find himself in the consuming poverty. Mickail passed the bar, it appeared to be in action. He didn't go in. He didn't want to take the chances of seeing the wench that had played him like a fool. He then spotted a gym. Well, Mick didn't go to gyms he wasn't one for lifting weights or using exercise equipment. He usually just did push-ups. He was real good at those. He looked through the glass seeing Jessi. He had a bad feeling in his gut when he saw her.
Mickail opened the sounding a small alarm that made a noise everytime someone entered. He slowly walked past people smiling; he tried his best to be friendly. He then strolled over to Jessi. "So, something's on your mind isn't it?" He said gently looking around at the various sweaty guys thinking 'Ew'. He wasn't reading her mind he just could tell plus he heard a bit of her conversation as he walked up. Mickail sat himself on a bench and looked at her. Mickail removed a strand of hair from out of his view as he looked at the ground. "I don't want you to do something on my behalf. I just don't want you to do anything that would get you hurt. I'm being pretty hypocritical now, though. I just the same want to get revenge. I just don't think it'd be wise for you to put your life in danger... I'm not saying you couldn't handle them but take that in consideration," He said looking directly at her.

"This isn't just about you, alright? I've been around these kinds of people my whole life, and I'm sick of the abuse..When I was little, even before my mother was killed, these sick b.astards down here, they enjoyed harming me...Sons of Satan, mother called them. Da and Papaw came down and took care of them, and came back to me. I will give them the pleasure of knowing they raised their daughter right..." Jessi was pissed right now, and after everything that had happened, he system was over-loading at the moment. She looked at Chunk and then Mick and hopped down, her hair in a ponytail. "I am going to do this....for my mother, myself, AND you. Mother said she knew how I felt, so I'm assuming she was hurt worse than I had been..." She sighed as she dropped down to the floor and started the push-ups. Even if she wasn't allowed to even try to give those freaks the knockout, she was going to go to military school soon enough. The one that was somewhere near here. She was going to be in the best damn shape of her life. She had a navy tanktop and blue jean shorts on, and she was going to make sure she didn't burn herself up. "They have a military school here, and I'm going....Ma woulda wanted it." That didn't mean she was moving, it just meant she had a buckle down a bit.

Mickail looked at her for a moment. He quirked a brow not sure how to react. He stood up shook his head, he didn't want to talk to her when she was pissed off. He lowered his gaze to the ground as she started doing push-ups. He looked over at Chunk, he trusted him to watch Jessi. "Well, if you were raised to take revenge that's your business. Up 'til now I never thought about what my mother had taught me. The most valuable thing she would say to me whenever I wanted to kill my dad was, people who hurt you want a reaction out of you. If you don't give that reaction they won't get what they want. You probably don't want to even listen to me. Well, I'll be sitting out front if you decide to cool down. I don't want to talk to someone when they're mad. Mad people don't want to listen nor even consider what someone is saying is true..." He said looking at her. He then slowly started to walk for the door. He put his headphones and blared his music. He sat right outside the gym. He watched the people pass him by.

"No...I was raised to fight...fight when I need to even live for a while. What makes anyone think they won't come back? They're still out there...like the drug dealers, like the stalkers....I'm not going to take any chances..." She stopped and looked at Mick, she wasn't mad, just a bit annoyed at a select few people. Chunk, Chase, and Manky. Hell, she was always annoyed at them. Jessi sighed and shook her head, looking at Chunk. "God, let's just go, then..." Chunk said, smirking lightly.
"Don't make me hit you. It's not a good time, alright..." Jessi sighed as she walked out of the door, forgetting her shoes inside, but oh well. She looked at Mick, then Chunk. "Chunk, go home....Just go, I'll be fine..." Chunk sighed as he started to walk off, looking back a few paces, but then continuing on his way.
Jessi leaned against the wall, then slide down onto her behind. "I know what's going to happen next....I seriously know what's going to happen to me. This is my past all over again, and I know the next chapter...the final one..."

Mickail looked at Jessi for a moment. He pulled his knees up to his chest rested his hands behind him to support himself. He then looked as Chunk walked away. "I guess I believe you, maybe you do know best." He said softly then looking back at her. "I just am worried, worried that I might lose a friend. A very good friend." He watched people pass them by. He felt invisible as the people passed by with out even glancing at them. Mickail watched a small dog across the street dig around in a trash can. He shook the hair out of his eyes. "I'm really debating on what to think in such a predicament..." He said almost to himself.

"It happened in a dream of mine. If you want to hear it, I'll tell you..." Jessi wasn't sure what to say to her friend other than that. She looked at him, and looked at the ground, ignoring the people walking passed them. "All I need is a gun pointed to my head, and it will all just be like that dream...no, nightmare..." It was no dream if there was no 'fairy tale ending'. Dreams were to describe positive things, while nightmare describes the bad. She wasn't sure what to do anymore, what to think in this city, but stay out at home or in Maryville. "This is so pathetic...I can't even go out of my home without worrying..."

Mickail pulled the ear buds out of his ears to put all of his attention on the girl. He ran his hand over his black eye and winced a bit, it still stung to the touch. He then turned his head to looked at Jessi. "Buddy, I'll listen to anything you have to say. Tell me about it," He said in a friendly voice. He was truly sincerely about it too. Mickail frowned, he didn't want to think of someone pointing a gun to his dear friend's head. Mickail looked at her and nodded his head. "Yeah, it is kind of sad. Not like the good ol' days our grandparents tell us about..." He said softly.

"They said...I owed it to them. That I owed them my life, or something. I have NO IDEA what the hell they're talking about, and then...it all went black, but before it did, I saw a gun there...I'm assuming they shot me, but..." Jessi sighed as she looked at the ground and put her head on her knees. "It's not going to go down like that. I won't let it..." She let her eye shut tighter than normal as she felt tears start to form. This was rather upsetting, and fairly traumatizing for everything she had been through in her life. All the abuse, and not enough love...shaking her head, she looked at Mick and sighed. She lifted her head up, and heard a song..."I know that song...it's Concrete Angel, isn't it..?" As if Mick knew, probably didn't even listen to country, did he?
"Through the wind and the rain She stands hard as a stone in a world that she can't rise above but her dreams give her wings and she flies to a place where she's loved concrete angel...." She felt tears fall as she sang that. That's what many people thought of her as, and it sickened her.

Mickail looked at Jessi. He shook his head, it hurt him to see her like this. Jessi didn't deserve to have to deal with this. Mick wished with all his heart he could help his buddy and magically make all the things that troubled her go away but he couldn't. Sadly, he really couldn't. As she spoke of the Concrete Angel, he hadn't really heard it. Mick wasn't a country person but he had nothing against it. It just wasn't the genre of music for him. Mickail listened to her pretty voice. She sung with heart unlike many other singers. Mick saw tears fall from her eyes. He frowned and gently wiped the tears off her face and gave her a small friendly hug. This was his way of trying to comfort his friend. He then said, "Jessi, don't ever hesitate to ask me for help if you need. We're like brother and sister practically..." He looked at her with a faint smile.
